Please create a Product Requirement Document (PRD) which covers the designing process of this feature. You can only use 2 places to design various aspects of this feature - (a) the video page itself and (b) a separate settings page.
Problem Statement:
Currently, when a user watches a video on YouTube using Google Chrome and either pauses the video or switches to another task, they are often required to re-watch an ad or restart the video upon returning. This disrupts the viewing experience and can lead to user frustration, potentially causing them to abandon the platform.
To improve user experience, YouTube could introduce a feature that allows users to temporarily disable or snooze ads, enabling seamless video continuation without unnecessary interruptions.
Assumptions:
Proposed Solution:
To incorporate “Go Ad Free” feature on the screen while the video plays and give users an option to disable the ads immediately in emergency situations using following option
User is able to use some credits from his credit wallet to stop seeing the Ads. Initially, User will have some free credits to use, but once the credits are exhausted, user will be able top up the credits using 3 options: paying for the credits, buying premium or filling some surveys.
What is a Credit: Credit is considered as the token/merit which is given to the user to disable the Ads.
1 Credit = x no. of seconds (any number of seconds can be assigned to the credit)
For ex. if a user has 1 credit and if 1 credit = 5sec, user scan skip any ad which is of 5 seconds or less using this 1 credit
What is Credits Wallet?
